Latest Updates from Our Project:

That's a Wrap!
9 months ago – Sat, May 24, 2025 at 01:12:09 PM

Popping in to say thank you, thank you for your support for our National Parks Oracle Deck! This campaign has been a huge success and we are thrilled that we get to make this deck and its associated accessories. Thanks to all 672 backers, this has been the Honey Scamps Art Collective's biggest project yet. We are growing and that is in large part due to each of you!

What's Next
Now that the campaign has ended, we're excited to move into the next phase. We've already started working on the backer survey so that you'll be able to select your rewards and we can place orders with our manufacturers. We are expecting to have the survey out to y'all by mid-June.

We also plan to open the pre-order store for late pledges so stay tuned for that in the coming weeks.

For any retailers who are interested in stocking our deck, please reach out to use at [email protected]

We want to keep you informed every step of the way as we move into production and beyond, so we encourage you to continue following along on our campaign page for the latest updates and announcements. And as always, feel free to reach out to us via email if you have any pressing questions or concerns!

With gratitude,
The Honey Scamps Team

Final Days & New Poll
9 months ago – Mon, May 19, 2025 at 01:27:51 PM

Hello dear backers!

We're in the final stretch for this campaign and the Tarotopia event, so we've released the final(?) round of stretch goals:

  • [LOCKED]🔒 $45k - third journal design (luna moth)
  • [LOCKED]🔒 $48k - holographic luna moth sticker
  • [LOCKED]🔒 $50k - third bandana ink color

We also have a new poll to help us choose a third ink color to add to the bandana if we reach $50K in funding. Here's a close-up of the options we've come up with. You have until Wednesday morning to cast your vote.

We also wanted to send another shoutout to Draco Nouveau for collaborating with us! If you haven't already, go snag their gorgeous deck so you can lock in the exclusive cross-collab freebies!

Last but not least, thank you all once again for supporting this project, voting in our polls, and spreading the word. We're so excited we get to make this oracle deck happen and we hope it inspires you to get outdoors and see more of the parks!

Unlock Updates + Interview: Crystal Tea
9 months ago – Tue, May 13, 2025 at 03:41:56 PM

You've done it again—we've just passed $42K in funding and unlocked the glitter firefly sticker! It's now available as an add-on (and will be included in the All-In tier automatically).

By a solid majority, backers chose the silver finish for the enamel pins, as well. The silver option is my personal favorite, so I appreciate the enthusiasm!

As promised, here are the mockups for the field notes covers. The pika has been unlocked, and we'll unlock the luna moth at $45K.

Honey Scamp Interview

Today we're continuing on with our mini interviews so you can get a glimpse at the people behind this project. Here is a bit about me, one of the co-founders of they Honey Scamps Art Collective.

What is your favorite national park and why?
I love Pinnacles—the landscape feels like something from another planet and as a sci-fi lover, it's right up my alley! I visited as a young adult and enjoyed climbing through the rocks and acting like a cave troll. (I am nothing if not silly.)

What is your favorite card from this collection?
The pika is my favorite. Planning and defense are two values I hold dear as a person with a very analytical brain who also deals with a lot of anxiety. I also really like the dichotomy between this tiny cute animal being so fierce and territorial. I think Emily did a fantastic job capturing the spirit of what this animal and card are all about.

Share a memory of a visit to a national park.
I don't have a specific memory, but when my daughter was a baby, I spent a lot of time with her strapped to my back as we hiked through Redwood National Park, where her dad volunteered. She was absolutely delighted by everything she found. Seeing nature through a child's eyes is pure magic!

What is the next national park on your to-visit list?
I'd love to see Yosemite! I have lived in California my whole life, but have never had a chance to visit the most popular park here. I am hoping the stars align so I can see Firefall at Horsetail Fall with my own eyes.

Backers, do you have a favorite memory from visiting a national park? We'd love to hear more stories!

Field Journal Cover Designs, New Poll & Unlocked Add-Ons
10 months ago – Sat, May 10, 2025 at 09:40:45 AM

We're excited to share that the poll results are in and you have chosen the next field journal cover designs to unlock: the luna moth and the pika! The pika is unlocked, and the luna moth will unlock at $45K. We're working on getting some mockups of those designs to show off and will post them when they're ready.

As we get closer and closer to our next milestones, we have a new poll for you – please help us choose the metal finish color for the pins. Options are gold, silver, and gunmetal.

The unlocked holo stickers of the manatee and the arctic fox are now available as single add-ons! These are upgrades so will apply to all tiers and any bundles that contain the stickers.

Our next stretch goals:
  • At $42k, we'll unlock a glitter firefly sticker
  • At $45k, we'll unlock the third journal cover design

A note on the deck card stock: in a prior update, I wrote that we were upgrading the cards to be 350gsm linen card stock. It turns out that not all of the manufacturers we have been considering offer this paper type (some only offer 310gsm linen). We remain committed to making sure the cards are as beautiful as they can be and will update when we know for certain what our manufacturer can do!

I think that's all for now. Thanks again for your enthusiastic support of this campaign!

New Unlocks & Artist Interview: Emily Schnall
10 months ago – Mon, May 05, 2025 at 03:23:16 PM

We're celebrating passing yet another unlock milestone with your help! Lovers of creepy crawlies will enjoy the new sticker sheet collecting all the bugs and reptiles from the card set! Those who have pledged for the All-in Ranger Collection will be receiving this unlock at no additional cost, and anyone else who wants to grab it can add the sticker sheet via add-ons.

Artist Interview

We thought it would be fun to do mini interviews of our team so you can get to know more about us and our love of the parks! First up is our artist Emily Schnall.

What is your favorite national park and why?

This is probably a basic choice, but I visited Yellowstone on my very first trip to a national park as a kid, so it’ll always have a special place in my heart. Obviously the flora and fauna are breathtaking and will always take home the gold for me, but the geology is incredible and truly worth experiencing in person. Yellowstone is a classic for a reason!

What is your favorite card from this collection?

I’ll go with the kangaroo rat from Arches! I’m really pleased with how that art came out and what a cutiepie! They’re just such a pleasing shape, a little potato with these spindly appendages.

Share a memory of a visit to a national park.

I spent my 13th birthday in Denali on a family trip, I vividly remember on that exact day I was scrambling up some rocky outcrops and suddenly found myself face to face with a couple pikas (of card fame!) who barked at me! Incredible! Like meeting a celeb!

What is the next national park on your to-visit list?

I hope someday I can travel west for a mega-organism tour! I’d go to Sequoia of course, and, this might be cheating since they’re in national forests technically, but I’d love to visit Pando the giant quaking aspen and the massive honey fungus in Malheur National Forest! Also as an east coast native it’s a shame I haven’t visited the parks out here, so Acadia and Shenandoah are on the list too!

Backers, what's your favorite park? Tell us in the comments...and don't forget to vote in our poll to help us narrow down the additional journal covers on our unlock path!
